On the Road Again

Dunafoldvár - a night to remember. Threatening rain, we didn’t make sure the tent was properly pegged. The next morning, half the tent was flooded with water. It took until noon the next day for everything to dry out.

Storm Clouds on the Way
This day, we rode 108 Kilometers to Escape the Storm

Since the traffic is horrendous in Budapest, we were up at 5 a.m. on a Sunday morning and on the road by 6. From Budapest on the road was flat and the wind was at our back. By 10 a.m., we had already ridden 60 kilometers and passed the first large milestone of our trip in Rakeve, Hungary - 1000 kilometers since we left Germany.

Weil der Verkehr in Budapest unmöglich ist, waren wir schon um 5 Uhr Sonntags wach und schon um 6 Uhr unterwegs. Von Budapest aus war die Strasse flach und der Wind war am Rücken. Bis 10 Uhr waren schon 60 Kilometer hinter uns und wir haben die erste grosse Meilenstein der Reise in Rakeve, Ungarn, erreicht -- 1000 Kilometer seitdem wir Deutschland verlassen hatten.
