Anyone that would want to ride with me this week has got to be absolutely nuts. Robert, you asked for it. This is the most grueling week of the entire trip -- with frequent steep mountains to conquer and no really good bike trails. If it rains, we’re in deep kimshee (Korean cabbage fermented underground) this week.
On a positive note, if the sun shines and the weather is good, it will be the most beautiful week of the entire trip. Fantastic vistas from the highest vantage points in the Alps of southern Germany and Austria. Evenings in the Oom Pah Pah live music region of the Bavarian Alps and the Algäu. Lederhosen, accordions, alpine horns, yodeling and Bavarian beer -- it’s gonna be a really fantastic time. (For those of you who don’t know, Robert is my best biking buddy in Germany and fit as a fiddle when it comes to biking.) A cheese-head and flat-lander from Holland, Robert’s gonna find out what it means to need a butt massage at the end of the day..
