Are alligators dangerous?

Well, yes... and no! This past year, there were only 4 attacks on humans in Florida. It’s against the law to feed them, punishable by a fine of up to 500 dollars. They only lose their fear of humans and are more prone to attack them if you feed them. That means, that since I was sleeping in a national wildlife preserve, the fellows in these photographs were very unlikely to want to eat me for breakfast.
