For this Mr. Stellwag measured my height, the length of my arms, legs, width of my chest, and weight.
The frame itself is made of a light alloy and weighs 1850 g – about 4 pounds. It is a mountain bike frame designed to fit exactly to me – for cross-country touring.

Für den Rahmen hat Herr Stellwag meine Größe, Armenlänge, Beinlänge, Brustweite, und Gewicht gemessen.
Der Rahmen selbst ist aus einer leichten Metalllegierung und wiegt nur 1850 g. Es ist ein Mountainbike Rahmen, dessen Design genau meinem Körper entspricht – für lange Gelände Touren.

When you travel on a bumpy trail or a long distance on a bike and your arms are stretched to the handlebars, the head and neck take a fair beating. The Axel Manitou is an adjustable suspension fork that lets me twist a dial to set the softness or hardness of the ride. I set it to soak up as many bumps as possible.

Wenn Du auf einem hubbligen Weg bist, oder wenn Du weit fährst, und deine Arme ausgestreckt sind, der Kopf und Hals werden dauernd durch den Lenker geschlagen. Der Axel Manitou ist eine Suspensionsgabel, womit ich eine Wählscheibe drehen kann, um die Härte der Fahrt einzustellen. Ich stelle es immer so ein damit die Unebenheiten richtig ausgeglichen werden.

Best feature on the bike.
Shifting gears with so many sprockets has always bothered me, so Mr. Stellwag suggested that I use the Rohloff Speedhub. Fantastic! I can shift 14 gears just by twisting the handle grip.
This hub has been tested up to 90,000 kilometers without failure. I wonder if I can make it to 100,000 km.

Beste Eigenschaft des Fahrrads.
Getriebe schalten mit so vielen Zahnräder hat mich immer gestört. Daher hat Herr Stellwag mir empfohlen, den Rohloff Speedhub zu kaufen. Fantastisch! Ich kann 14 Gänge schalten, indem ich nur den Handgriff drehe.
Diese Nabe wurde bis 90.000 km ohne Panne geprüft. Ob ich es bis 100.000 km schaffen kann?

Keine Bremskabel mehr. Diese sind völlig hydraulisch und sind 5-Jahre garantiert. Eine kleine Bewegung am Hebel und die hälfte der Bremse ist weg damit man den Rad herausziehen kann.

Nachdem ich ein Paar mal fast über den Lenker geflogen bin, habe ich die Betriebsanleitung gelesen. Darin steht, das man vorsichtig mit der Vorderbremse sein soll. Weltmeister im Fahrradfahren benützen diese Bremsen.

I told Mr. Stellwag that I would probably end up on a lot of off-road unpaved bike trails during my trip, so he recommended Schwalbe SmartGuard tires:
Glass, thumbtacks, thorns, you name it. Amost nothing can put a hole in it. These tires have a highly elastic, special rubber puncture protection belt to make them puncture proof.

Ich habe Herrn Stellwag gesagt, dass ich während meiner Reise wahrscheinlich auf einigen Waldwegen fahren müßte. Daher hat er die Schwalbe SmartGuard Reifen empfohlen.
Fast nichts kann ein Loch darin machen. Diese Reifen haben eine besondere elastische Gummischützrgürtel, damit sie viel länger leben können.

This rack is super strong but lightweight. Klaus Stellwag had to find something that would hold up for 6000 kilometers without failing or wobbling around. This rack was built especially for the quick- release Ortlieb panniers and travel bag.

Also dann, wo sollte ich das ganze Gepäck hintun?
Dieser Gepäckträger is super stark aber leicht in Gewicht. Klaus Stellwag müsste etwas finden, dass die ganze 6000 km ohne wackeln oder versagen durchhält. Dieser Gepäckträger würde besonders für die schnell abnehmbare Ortlieb Hinterradtaschen und Koffer.

Dieser ist ein wirklich guter Halogenscheinwerfer mit eingebautem Reflektor. Und eine Diode scheint, auch wenn man nicht mehr auf die Pedale tritt.
Gute Eigenschaft ist dass man die Birne ohne Werkzeuge auswechseln kann.
